Implementation of “SHETKARI JAGRUTI ABHIYAN”. Through this mission the continuous efforts have been made to raise the moral strength and support to the farmers.

Continuous efforts to impart social training to the common farmer mostly from Vidarbha region especially from that area where the unfortunate tendency for suicide is observed, so as to raise their moral and living standards.

Organization of various “Krushi Mela”, "Symposium”, “Seminars”, "Demonstration”, “Training Workshops” so as to provide the latest technology in the field of agriculture to common farmer and for this purpose special efforts were taken and continuously making efforts to motivate a farmer through “BHARAT KURSHAK SAMAJ” established by Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh up to the date near about 5000 farmers were benefited by this mission.

To provide self employment and job oriented education to the Vidarbhiyan farmers to enhance their skills talents and abilities. For this purpose organized various agriculture conferences through Agriculture, Horticulture and Biotechnology departments.

Establishment of advisory centers and board to impart technical advices to the farmers under the guidance of expert committee.

Effective implementation of the programmes for bringing the awarencess of organic farming i.e. substantial agriculture.

Upliftment of the women belonging to the weaker and poor section of the society through various schemes and programmes and making availability of employment or wages.

To encourage the women for the formation of saving groups viz. “BACHAT GAT”

Introduction of various scholarship and other educational facilities to the poor and economically backward students, encouraging the underprivileged and deprived section of our society for gaining the education .

Introduction of latest technology so as to educate the students coming from rural or village area and put the emphasis on Research and Extensions.

To reestablish the “ LOK VIDYAPEETH ”, the first vidyapeeth inaugurated in the auspicious hands of first President of India Dr.Rajendra Prasad in 1948, a dream of Shikshan Maharshi Dr.Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh .

Shri Shivaji Education society, Amravati, the second largest education society in the State of Maharashtra was founded in 1931-32 by Shikhsan Maharshi and Krushi Ratna, Late Dr.Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmulkh, the First Union Minister of Agriculture. The Society has created a educational network in entire Vidarbha, for it has been managing its control, educational institutions of varied nature, and that too at all levels. With you view, to making this educational network known to all, we have proud privilege to state that this Education Society has been running educational institute from pre-primary level to higher education i.e. up to senior colleges .

This education Society, has been running pre-primary school, Ashram school, Secondary school and Junior colleges inclusive of vocational studies, relating to different vocational subject, At higher level, it has been managing senior colleges in the academic fields of Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, Education, Physical Education, Rural Studies, Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, Bio Technology and Horticulture.

The total educational network for this education society ,as such comprises of total 269 educational institute of varied academic neture. The annual budgetary outlay of this society is showing a rising curve every year. The statistics of Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati in respect of budgetary outlay, student strength and staff composition (both academic and ministerial) revals that the proposed budgetary outlay is of Rs.124,59,29,054 and the staff strength inclusive of academic and ministerial man power figures to 6000 on 31.03.2007. where has student strength which was 1,13,000 during the year 2006-07 is likely to cross this figure considerably in the academic year 2007-08

The education society has contributor towards in the progress and upliftment of underprivileged youth for which of Maharashtra Govt. and social welfare department has honored it with “ Dalit Mitra Award “. For the same contribution, the Gadgemaharaj Mission Mumbai has also awarded the society with the “Gadgemahraj Seva Purskar”. Apart from this, the Mahrashtra sate government has awarded the society as “ Excellent Education Society 2000 ” for excellent contribution towards value based education.

Prior to the independence Krushi Maharshi Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh has established the first hostel for students of poor worker and underprivileged section knows as “ Shri Shraddhananda hostel” in December 1926. At present society is maintaining 36 such hostels.
The founder President Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh was the first person successful in procuring the section and establishment of first Rural Institute approved and affiliated to the Central Government of India.

Under my prsesidentship, keeping Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh’s vision as a focus for further development of society, we strives towards taking the society to a higher level of achievements.
